Melt and pour soap is a ready-made soap base composed of glycerin that has been extracted from pure coconut oil, palm oil, palm kernel oil, sorbitol, sucrose, water and other natural ingredients. The glycerin is distilled and deodorized twice, for a clear bar of soap that can be scented to suit your personal tastes. This clear soap base is also free of surfactants and is alcohol free. This base is produced through the “saponification” process, which involves mixing fats and an alkali (such as lye). The resulting substance is allowed to cure for up to four weeks before it’s ready for use.
